Pam Edstrom

President Microsoft Account Worldwide & Founder

Pam Edstrom started her career in technology PR, first with Tektronix Inc. and then as Microsoft’s first director of public relations. In 1984 she partnered with Melissa Waggener Zorkin, helping to build what is now the second-largest independent strategic communications and influence agency in the world. Pam is deeply involved on a day-to-day basis in nurturing client relationships, and she is equally committed to mentoring the company’s present and future leadership.

Pam’s acumen is unparalleled in the communications industry, and she spends each day demonstrating her strategic expertise to clients spanning the technology industry – from personal computing to semiconductors.

Pam has been instrumental to the success of past and present accounts such as Advanced Micro Devices (AMD), MasterCard, Dell, Boeing, and Intimate Brands (IBI), and in 2010, she assumed the presidency of the global Microsoft account after getting the agency’s Studio D digital communications group and APAC office off to successful starts. In addition to her latest leading role, Pam continues to be instrumental in creating industry-leading PR services, training programs and quality initiatives for Waggener Edstrom Worldwide’s account teams and clients.

Pam’s ingenuity and future-focused vision earn her clients’ trust and respect, and her hard work garners industry accolades along the way. In 2008, she was named Woman Executive of the Year by the Portland Business Journal, and she has also been recognized as one of PRWeek’s 50 Most Powerful Women in PR and one of its 100 Most Influential PR People of the 20th Century.

Pam’s expertise finds her frequently speaking about business and communications issues at prominent venues, including the Wharton School at the University of Pennsylvania, the Swedish government, the Royal Swedish Academy of Engineering Sciences, the U.S. Embassy in Stockholm, the University of California Berkeley Graduate School of Journalism, the Agenda Conference, the Public Relations Institute of New Zealand, the Portland Business Journal’s Power Breakfast and several marketing organizations.
