This week, several of Consumer Practice clients are heading to the International CTIA Wireless 2012 show in New Orleans. Catering to an audience of hungry app developers, retailers and international companies, wireless companies from across the globe will be showing off the latest and greatest products and services.

After traveling around the country in recent years, from Las Vegas to San Francisco to San Diego, following the aftermath of Hurricane Katrina, the show returns to the Big Easy this year for what’s sure to be a great event!

While all of the important conversations about wireless technologies and innovations are taking place, there are lots of other great aspects of New Orleans to check out as well!

What does a CTIA show in New Orleans offer that other cities don’t?

  • Experience the New Orleans Jazz Festival: Kick off your trip the weekend before the CTIA event with tickets to the New Orleans Jazz Festival. It’s on now and ends Sunday, May 6.
  • Enjoy authentic Cajun food at Mulate’s – just steps from the convention center and right on the waterfront.
  • Meet Celebrities – or try to! Chef Emeril Lagasse, known for “kicking it up a notch” owns three restaurants in New Orleans: Emeril’s New Orleans, Emeril’s Delmonico and NOLA.
  • For nightlife, visit the iconic Bourbon Street – but don’t forget Frenchmen Street, known as “the local’s Bourbon Street” – an entertainment district within walking distance from the famous French Quarter, with a unique variety of music every night of the week.
  • And if you miss the draw of the casinos when CTIA is in Las Vegas, check out New Orlean’s take on Harrah’s Casino.
