In March 2006, Waggener Edstrom Worldwide employees were presented with the opportunity to help put shoes on the feet of young residents of the Pimpollo Home for Children in Juchitan, Oaxaca, Mexico. Funds for local shoe-shopping for the children were cheerfully donated by employees and the agency. Thanks to the generosity and leadership of many employees in the agency's Portland and Seattle-area offices, 49 pairs of shoes - more than double our initial goal - were purchased for the orphanage through the U.S charitable organization Friends of Pimpollo.
"Thank you for the sneakers! That God may bless you," said a thankful 15-year-old Christian Emmanuel upon receiving his new shoes. Emmanuel and his friends are now able to meet the school's dress code and continue down the path of learning and growing as students.
At Waggener Edstrom Worldwide, we believe strongly in supporting our global community. Whether fighting breast cancer in the U.S., offering pro bono PR programs for local charitable organizations or supporting international orphanages, WE employees are generous with their time and money. The agency has a long history of eagerly supporting causes that our people are passionate about. Through hope, love, laughter and sorrow, the children of Pimpollo have experienced their fair share of life lessons. They deserve to have their story told.
For the children of Pimpollo, WE employees are with them - literally - every step of the way.

For $25 (U.S.) per month you can sponsor a Pimpollo child. Sponsorships help provide food, clothing, medicine, school supplies and much more. Because the orphanage is operated on a 100 percent volunteer basis, every penny of your donation goes to aid the children. There are no administrative costs.
If you’d like to join in monthly sponsorship, please visit http://www.friendsofpimpollo.org/. You'll receive three progress reports each year on your child. Friends of Pimpollo can also facilitate your sending cards and/or gifts for special occasions, which will help you connect with your sponsored child. In addition, thanks to the computer lab established with the agency's help, you can send e-mail to that child.
